A volunteer firefighter was allowed to remain on his brigade after being convicted of sexually abusing his six-year-old son.
The victim's mother says the fire brigade showed public support for the abuser in their small town and that lent legitimacy to the man's claim that the allegation was false and that she was behind it.
The boy's mother says she can never go back to the town because so many in their community swung behind her son's abuser.
Veronica Schmidt has the story.
