The Wellington City Council's library saga has taken an unexpected turn - councillors are considering selling part of its ownership of the quake-prone library to private investors.
On top of that, the council is considering slashing the library collection's budget by 40 percent.
It comes after a long debate about the future of the library, which has been closed for almost two years.
