The Government is promising a "once-in-a generation reset" of the immigration system as it plans for the re-opening of borders and a post Covid-19 economy.
So-called low-skilled workers will find it much harder to work in New Zealand, while at the same time more will be done to woo those with higher skills.
But will these changes - in whatever form they're ultimately delivered - help or hinder the economic recovery?
Westpac's acting chief economist Michael Gordon spoke to Corin Dann.
