The Council of Trade Unions is concerned women could end up compromising their career development, if they have to take less secure jobs.
Official figures show that in in the March quarter, the number of women in casual, fixed term or temporary roles was up almost four and a half percent percent on a year earlier.
The union's secretary Melissa Ansell-Bridges told our social issues reporter Sarah Robson that women are finding work again after the initial hit of the pandemic.
But it's not necessarily in permanent positions.
