This year marks the 31st anniversary of the Ngata Memorial Lectures. The annual Ng?ti P?rou gathering acknowledges the legacy of leader and politician Ta Apirana Ngata, and provides a forum to discuss issues affecting Ng?ti P?rou today including politics and te reo m?ori. The idea to host a lecture series came to Sir Tamati Reedy in 1982 while he was studying in Alabama as he recalls with Justine Murray.
