Khanti (Sanskrit)
We need to understand what is “Khanti” and why to practice “Khanti”.

It is absolutely not about being a nice guy who does not discriminate between right and wrong or is timid and overcautious.

The Six Perfections of Mahayana Buddhism, generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiastic perseverance, concentration and wisdom, work closely with and complement each other.

The practice of Six Perfections serves both as a boat carrying self and others to the shore of enlightenment, and as a wholesome recipe to cultivate virtue and eliminate sufferings.

“Khanti” includes eliminating sufferings and non-virtuous deeds for self; it also includes vigorously cultivating virtuous deeds for others.

Therefore,a comprehensive approach must be taken toward understanding “Khanti”.
