GM will cut it's workforce by 1000 at Ontario plant in Oshawa. The jobs are going to Lansing, Michigan. GM makes public plan to invest $5.4 billion. All in the U.S., not a dime in Canada, but Canadian taxpayers helped bail out General Motors in 2009 with billions in tax dollars. Ottawa recently sold $3.3 billion in GM stock eliminating the federal government's bargaining power, but allowing the government to boast about a balanced budget. Who is responsible for the loss of 1000 Canadian jobs? An indifferent GM? An election-oriented federal government? Unions which demand too much from employers? Prov gov hydro rates? And is there more bad news on the horizon?
