Last Sunday, Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, environmentalist, economist, head of the Consensus Centre think tank in Copenhagen, believer in human induced global warming, and author told us from Paris where he was attending the COP21 climate change UN gathering that the treaty signed by 195 countries which calls on developed countries to deliver trillions of dollars to underdeveloped countries to fight rising global temperatures has targets impossible to meet.
Lomborg added the elderly and poor in England and Wales are suffering and dying because they cannot afford to properly heat their homes due to massive spikes in energy pricing and the imposition of green taxes. U.K. media stories support Lomborg. British media report many thousands have already died (100,000 more projected to die in the next 15 years) and tens of thousands are suffering cold-indoor temperature related cardiovascular and respiratory problems. These people are faced with, according to a U.K. professor who conducted a study on the issue, the choice of "heat or eat." Canadian (Ontario) news reports also speak to seniors and the poor not being able to meet their heating costs any longer. In Toronto and Ottawa the price of electricity rose 80% between 2004 and 2014. Will Canada's governments now raise energy (electricity) prices even more significantly to meet the objectives of COP21?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
