Drew Trusty is a distance runner from a small farm town in Sycamore, Ohio. Early on in his high school career Drew was a four sport athlete, but as he began to see his true potential as a distance runner he realized that something needed to go. While a senior at Mohawk High School Drew ran one of the fastest times in the state of Ohio with a time of 15:15 in the 5k. Mr. Trusty had the accolades and the ability to go to some of the biggest Division 1 programs, but decided to go to a smaller Division II school instead. Years later Drew became one of Malone University's first male All-Americans in the sport of Cross Country. After graduation from Malone Drew would decide to finish up his track eligibility in the SEC as a Gamecock for South Carolina University In this interview we talk about why Drew decided to go to a smaller school along with what its like to transition from a Division II school into a powerhouse conference in Division I.
