The Kings started out smoking hot against the Grizzlies Monday night in the G1C, shooting 12-13 from 3 and 17-24 FG overall, setting an NBA record and franchise record for 3s in the first quarter and led the Grizzlies by 14 after 12 minutes. But if there was ever a fragile 14 point lead this would be it. In the midst of this scorching hot shooting, the Grizzlies were scoring easily on the Kings defense, and that carried over into the next quarter.

The 2nd quarter started and the King's hot shooting cooled down, and the Grizzlies made it into a grinder, and they methodically cut into the lead. They would briefly take the lead in the 3rd quarter and things looked grim for the Kings.  But in the King’s time of need, the bench came to the rescue, Malik Monk, Richaun Holmes and most importantly Trey Lyles turned it up on both ends of the floor to blow this game open and get a huge win at home. Trey brought the full package, 3s, blocks, steals, dunks, you name it, he did it all. With a huge boost from Fox as well, the Kings held the Grizzlies to 2 FGs in the 4th and run away with the victory to even the season series with the Grizzlies.

The Kings are running on all cylinders now and even though it was a shorthanded Grizzlies team on the 2nd night of a back to back, the Kings took care of business and got a good win to build some momentum again after a demoralizing loss against the Sixer 2 nights before. The Kings will host the Raptors Wednesday in the G1C before heading out on a long road trip, let's see if they can get one more win before heading out on the road.
