Kings lose their first game of the Sabonis era against the Nets in Brooklyn. It wasn't a pretty game, the Kings started out slow on offense, and never really picked it up. The ball and player movement wasn't there, guys couldn't hit shots, there wasn't a lot of passing and fastbreaks, it just wasn't the Kings game. The stagnant offense unfortunately undermined a lot of really good Kings defensive possessions, where Sabonis was able to hold his own, Davion and Donte were harassing the ball handlers into tough shots. But unfortunately, it was just one of those games where a lot things went right for the Nets, and not a lot for the Kings.

This loss is an important juncture for the Kings this rest of the season, the honeymoon period is now waning, and reality is starting to set back in. The next game will be a statement game for the Kings and we fans will see what they're made of. Kings teams in the past usually lay down the game and  take the L in embarrassing fashion after a demoralizing loss like this. Is this new Kings team any different?

All eyes will be on this Kings team to see how they handle adversity and if they can rise up to the challenge next game in Chicago.
