Kings vs Nets & Warriors 2/3/22 Postgame, Warriors quiz, Rising Stars and All-Star talk - a podcast by Owen and Fong Legacy

Sometimes these Kings can surprise you. When they came back into the G1C on Wednesday to take on the Brooklyn Nets, no one would've bat an eye had they lost the game in decisive fashion. But the Kings didn't lay down and take the L, instead they fought hard even after falling down by double digits for much of the game and were able to win the game in impressive fashion down the stretch, shocking much of the entire NBA world. Granted, the Nets were without Kevin Durant but the Kings executed their game plan and held Kyrie Irving and James Harden to terrible shooting nights. It's something that's become a rare occurrence and Kings fans need to bask in its glory while they last.

While the King's execution of game plan in the Nets game was impressive, that cannot be said for Thursday night against the Warriors. Unless the game plan was to leave the 2 greatest shooters of all time open for 3s. The Warriors went scorched earth from the 3 point line and got a number of electrifying dunks from Rookie Jonathan Kuminga that sunk the Kings for a relatively easy win for the Dubs. I say relatively because outside of those 2 things I just mentioned, the Kings actually played really well and hung in the game for longer than they should have. But the bad defense and communication of the Kings was exposed by the Warriors offense and it's what led to those open 3s and dunks. 

It's a good reality check for the Kings because make no mistake, this is a bad Kings team in need of change. The trade deadline is less than a week away and the Kings front office needs to keep their eye on the ball and make the changes necessary to set this team up for long term success.
