Kings vs Pistons 12/16/22, Kings take care of business in Detroit, finish East Coast road trip 3-3 - a podcast by Owen and Fong Legacy

Kings finish their road trip strong with a win in Detroit and move to 3-3 on this East Coast trip. While you would think this would be an easy win, the Kings have been known to blow games like this, especially when you take into factor that this is their 3rd game in 4 nights, they totally could’ve lost this one in demoralizing fashion. And it started out that way, where the Kings came out a bit flat and step slow. This led to the Pistons leading the Kings by 8 points going into halftime.

But this is where this Kings team is different from the Kings of the past. The Kings in the past go into halftime and usually come out flat and/or with no intensity and get trounced. But this Kings team goes into halftime, and outside of the Knicks and Sixers games, makes adjustments, played with more physicality and focus and in turn, change the momentum of the game in favor of the Kings to mount a comeback or to blow the game open. The 38 points they scored in the 3rd quarter vs the Pistons 23 in the quarter was the difference in the game, and it's happened enough times now that it’s becoming a thing.

The Kings now come back home to Sacramento for a 6 game homestand and hopefully will take advantage and create some space in the standings. Next game: Hornets on Monday in Sacramento.
