Kings welcomed the Phoenix Suns into the G1C on Sunday and gave the #1 team in the league a run for their money. While they were missing Chris Paul, the Kings fought the Suns tooth and nail until late in overtime. The Kings themselves were without DeAaron Fox and lost Sabonis late in the 4th quarter, but the Kings showed grit and fight that ignited the G1C home crowd. While the losses have piled up, the Kings seemed to have breathed life back into their fanbase with this new rendition of 2021-22 Kings. While the loss sucks, it moved the Kings above Indiana Pacers and into the 5th best draft lottery odds. While it may not be good for basketball karma to talk about tanking for lottery odds, the result of this game fits the criteria for "best of both worlds" for the King's future.

Speaking of Pacers, the Kings faced them in Indiana on Wednesday and ... it's not totally clear they won, despite beating the Hali and Buddy led Pacers 110-109. On one hand, getting a win is always great, no matter the context or circumstance and the Kings were able to come back in the 4th after suffering a double-digit deficit in the 3rd quarter while looking helpless. But on the other hand, the Kings moved back to #6 in the lottery odds and played vets like Alex Len over Queta, prioritizing likely meaningless wins over crucial development. You decide whether this was a win or loss for the Kings.
