Kings vs Thunder and Sixers 1/21/23, Kings win a tough one against the Thunder, and lose a tough one to the Sixers - a podcast by Owen and Fong Legacy

Kings get a good win on the front end of a back to back against a very tough OKC team. The Thunder came out smoking hot in the first, shooting 12-21 from 3 while the Kings went 4-18 from 3. But the game was still close at halftime, 66-59. How? The Kings were scoring in the paint really well and getting to the line, and that kept them in the game. In the second half, the Kings started to hit from 3 and the Thunder cooled off, which opened the door for the Kings to come back into the game and take the lead going into the 4th. It became a shootout in the 4th with Keegan and the rest of the Thunder, and the Thunder blinked first and Murray stayed hot to give the Kings the cushion to win the game. Even though it got hairy at the end, the Kings took care of business and get a great win against a very tough but young Thunder team.

The Kings then carry that momentum over to the Sixers game the next night ... for about the first 20 minutes of the game ... Against a Sixers team without Harden and Embiid, in a game where they led by 21 in the 1st half, it slowly evaporated as their defense was terrible and they gave up 16 offensive rebounds for 23 second chance points. The red hot 3 point shooting in the 1st half covered up all of those issues, but when the shots stopped falling, the warts of the Kings became front and center and they drop a tough game to the Sixers. 

The King’s 6 game win streak is over, it’s a tough loss but the Kings have built up a lot of equity in this winning streak. But the Kings have clear holes they need to fix and let’s see if there is anything that is done about it soon.
