What are psychedelics?


Psychedelics are plants or chemical substance whose that has the power to create out of the ordinary states of consciousness. Which people call a trip! A few examples are LSD, psilocybin (shrooms), DMT, and even THC (marijuana)



Laws regarding psychedlics


With Denver Co becoming the first state to decriminalize psilocybin in May 2019. Then a month later Oakland followed their example and shortly after we arrive here where just a few weeks ago Oregon becomes the first state to not only decriminalize psilocybin and also legalize it for therapeutic use.


In the District of Columbia, voters elected to decriminalize the use of magic mushrooms and other psychedelic substances with the passage of Initiative 81

*The use, sale, and possession of psilocybin in the United States, despite state laws, is illegal under federal law.


The people are sending a clear message saying that restrictions on recreational drug use show be more relaxed. 


Benefits of psychedelics


-improve mood

-able to look t things from a different perspective

-aid in depression treatment

-aids to stop substance use disorders, including alcohol and cocaine addiction



2016 study, researchers at NYU Grossman School of Medicine found that a one-time, single-dose treatment of psilocybin, a compound found in psychedelic mushrooms, combined with psychotherapy, appears to be associated with significant improvements in emotional and existential distress in people with cancer. These effects persisted nearly five years after the drug was administered.


MDMA, also known as ecstasy, is is being used to as a tool to assist psychotherapy for people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
