South African Singer Nothende has been said to have her ‘soul’ house in order and its no wonder because in just a matter of years, she has worked with many SA artists, recorded NO.1 hit singles and even scored herself nominations for SAMA & Metro FM awards.
She recorded a song titled OOH, for the Gazlam Soundtrack (2), produced by one of South Africa’s veteran producer’s, Kaybee. The song gained Nothende her first SAMA nomination (Best Team Composition) in 2004.
Nothende was part of a hip hop group, The Playoffs. They became the ambassadors of an HIV/AIDS Campaign, LIV-LIVE, funded by the US Embassy.
Nothende was a backup vocalist for one of SA’s popular musicians, Lira. She also performed as part of opening acts for international artists such as Tamia, Kanye West, India Arie, Goapele, Bilal, to name a few.
Nothende’s music is a fresh blend of urban/soul sounds enriched with great, smooth melodies and catchy lyrics. http://www.nothende.com
