Volunteers in Albury are restoring an old DC-2 aircraft like the Uiver - Oud DC-2 vliegtuig wordt opgeknapt tot Uiver - a podcast by SBS

Due to the extraordinary landing of the Uiver in 1934 in Albury (VIC), the local community has a special relationship with the Netherlands. The Uiver Memorial Community Trust is committed to preserving this piece of shared history. A group of volunteers is currently restoring an original DC 2 aircraft, the same type as the Uiver. We spoke to Pieter Mol, president of the trust, to learn more about this special project. - Door de bijzondere landing van de Uiver in Albury (NSW) in 1934, heeft de plaatselijke bevolking voor altijd een speciale band met Nederland. De Uiver Memorial Community Trust zet zich in voor het behoud van dit stukje gedeelde geschiedenis. Zo restaureert een groep vrijwilligers momenteel een originele DC 2 vliegtuig, hetzelfde type als de Uiver.
