"In the bedroom, another investigator saw what appeared to be tiny pale fingers reach out from the inside of the closet door..."

A quote from the second of today's horror tales. Our first story is another Hat Man encounter. A young girl sees the Hat Man in her grandparent's home and finds out years later she wasn't the only one to see him. Our second story is the tale of the infamous Villisca Axe Murders. Eight people were murdered with an axe in a small Iowa town, all in one night, all in the same home. And the murderer was never caught. Now, the house may be haunted with the ghosts of those victims, and perhaps also by something else.

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."
