When we look at social hierarchies and the effects of positive stereotyping, social weight, and economic freedom and the opportunities it affords those at the top of the hierarchy, we can easily see the damage of sexism, both individually and systemically. But co-founder of the men's rights movement in 1977 Fred Hayward sees men facing issues and stereotypes that have negative effects — not just positive ones. In this episode, Fred shares those issues and stereotypes, what made him start a men's rights movement, and what the early days of the movement looked like.
