51-capped international rugby player who scored 15 tries in 48 appearances for Wales as well as winning three caps for the British & Irish Lions on their 2001 tour to Australia — scoring in the first test as well as becoming the first ever player to record 25 tries in the Heineken Cup — Dafydd James joins me on Seb Talks Sports! Dafydd describes receiving the call-up from Kevin Bowring to make his national team debut against the Wallabies at just 20 years of age, being a key player in the starting XV as Wales hosted the Rugby World Cup in 1999 and the additional pressure that bore, his experience on the 2001 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia playing in all three test matches and scoring in the opener, battling the physical toll of a career-ending neck injury and subsequent mental health issues, THAT last-gasp 32-31 victory over England at Wembley Stadium to deny Clive Woodward’s men the 1999 Five Nations Championship, the infamous Battle of Brive from an on-pitch perspective, and much more!
