Jordan Travis lit up the night, running a triple-option offense which led the Florida State Seminoles to a 41-24 win over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

A shaky start from true freshman Tate Rodemaker included a bad interception return for a touchdown on an ill-advised throw, and three other poor drives. Rodemaker did not return for the fifth drive.

Jordan Travis, the redshirt sophomore out of The Benjamin School, ran a triple option offense reminiscent of Chip Kelly’s Oregon Ducks. Seminoles fans are all too familiar, having seen Kelly’s protege Mark Helfrich and his charge Marcus Mariota run a similar offense in the Ducks’ 2014 Rose Bowl win over FSU.

Tomahawk Nation writer and Four Verts co-host Jon Marchant gave his thoughts on the Seminoles’ first win under Mike Norvell in this instant reaction podcast.
