“Nothing in nature blooms all year.”?

Welcome Back to The Morning Muse.In today’s thrilling podcast we were joined by Reputable Radio Presenter and Voice over artist, Miss Tshepi Mabs.

Born in Tembisa, Tshepi is the youngest of three children, two girls and a boy. She was raised by her technician father and her mother, who worked at the local municipality.

Tshepiso Mabulana is well on her way to making her mark in her chosen field. She co-hosted the popular 3-6pm drive-time slot on YFM, called The Best Drive, with Sabelo Mtshali. Before getting this coveted gig, the two hosted the lunch-time slot, The Best Thing Ever. Tshepi also hosts the specialised show, The Game Changer, which airs on YFM on Mondays from 10pm to midnight. Its theme is woman empowerment. In addition, Tshepi is a budding voice-over artist. All this, after she kicked off her career in 2013 as part of YFM’s six-month radio internship programme, Y-Academy.

Tshepi initially wanted to be an actress and to this end, enrolled for a degree in media and performance studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. While in third year, a friend, who liked her voice, told her that Gagasi FM was hosting auditions and suggested she go for it. After waiting all day to audition until they closed, Tshepi had to go home. Despite that, the experience solidified her love for radio. Although she’d never been on a radio station, Tshepi began sending out her CV to SABC radio stations and YFM. After her second attempt to work at YFM, she made it into the Y-Academy in 2013 after one of its chosen 13 participants cancelled. Management called Tshepi to fill the spot and that’s where it all began.

Besides her radio work, Tshepi is passionate about empowering the community. For the past three years, on 15 October she has hosted an initiative called Slumber with Tshepi, hosting young girls for a sleepover. She’s partnered with Premier Hotels to host the girls, Avis South Africa for transportation and Mangwanani African Spa to pamper them.

We had the chance to talk to her about Radio Presenting, Women Empowerment, Social Media, Happiness and more!?

Don’t forget to share with friends and family!?
