ISAIAH 42-3--- In Zion---From Our Hebrew Scripture--The word 'mourn' -'abel Strong's H57- appears 8 times in the Old Testament.--Example of mourning because of death--And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him- but he refused to be comforted, and he said, -For I shall go down into the grave to my son in mourning.- Thus his father wept for him. -GENESIS 37-35----Example of mourning because of calamity--The roads to Zion mourn because no one comes to the set feasts. All her gates are desolate- her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness. -LAMENTATIONS 1-4----Different and interesting usage- ISAIAH 57-18---Cf.
