Matthew informs us that this is a fulfillment of prophecy itself, citing ZECHARIAH 9-9. --As we read 1 KINGS, we discover that David and Solomon rode on a mule as kings in Jerusalem as well -verse 33-- --With this added layer, we can see Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey as the Son of David, the Greater Solomon- --Who could have arranged things in such a way, so that there is correspondence between KINGS and MATTHEW, but God the Divine Producer of the Drama of Redemption from GENESIS-REVELATION---Praise be to His Name-
