IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT--PSALM 10---Recall the tragedy of 1 KINGS 21 -Naboth oppressed by cruel Ahab---Naboth was killed -1 KINGS 21-14--Naboth's sons were killed -2 KINGS 9-26--Naboth's vineyard was taken away -1 KINGS 21-16---What would life be like for his surviving family members after 1 KINGS 21----If Mrs. Naboth is a member of Shalom Church, -what would you say to her and do for her----How would you love her as your neighbour and your fellow church member, -6 months, 16 months, 36 months down the road----PSALM 10 is lament.--Lament is a prayer in pain that leads to trust.--Lament asks- Where are you, God--If you love me, why is this happening---Lament has four movements----1- IN MY PAIN, I TURN TO GOD---PSALM 10-12-----2- IN MY PAIN, I COMPLAIN TO GOD---PSALM 10-1--EXODUS 34-6 - The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness -hesed- and truth--- -3- IN MY PAIN, I BOLDLY ASK GOD---PSALM 10-12--PSALM 10-15--Break the arm of the wicked man- -call the evildoer to account for his wickedness -that would not otherwise be found out.-NIV-------4- IN MY PAIN, I CHOOSE TO TRUST GOD---PSALM 10-16-18----But I have trusted in Your mercy--My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.-I will sing to the Lord,-Because He has dealt bountifully with me.-PSALM 13-5-6-----WHY lament----My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me--Why are You so far from helping Me,-And from the words of My groaning--O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear--And in the night season, and am not silent.-But You are holy,-Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
