LAMENTATIONS 3- THE LORD IS MY PORTION--Through the LORD's mercies -plural form- we are not consumed,-Because His compassions -plural form- fail not. -They are new every morning- great is Your faithfulness. --The LORD is my portion,- says my soul, -Therefore I hope in Him-- -LAMENTATIONS 3-22-24--A PATTERN--- JOB 19-25-27 - For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth- and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me- --- HABAKKUK 3-17-19 - Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines- though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food- though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls -- yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength- He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. --- PSALM 73-25-26 - Whom have I in heaven but You- And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail- but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. --- LAMENTATIONS 3-22-24----THE CONTEXT--- Verses 1-3- non-stop troubles and perplexities-- Verse 4- physical pain and debilitating weakness-- Verses 5-9- feeling stuck and suffocated -- Verses 10-11- being mauled by bears and lions-- Verse 12- being targeted by an archer -- Verse 14- butt of all jokes and ridicules-- Verses 15-16- deeply disappointed and badly hurt-- Verses 17-18- peace, happiness, hope and confidence all gone
