The content of this s?rah is an affirmation of the Oneness of All?h, and that there is no compromise when it comes to the worship of All?h.

The revelation of this s?rah was a direct result of the polytheists in Makkah requesting that the Prophet ? agree to a compromise of alternating between the worship of All?h and their idols. This s?rah was a rejection of polytheism in its entirety. The Prophet ? never diverted his attention from the worship of All?h. To further cement his conviction and belief, he would constantly recite this s?rah in his salah as well as before retiring to bed.

In this talk, a detailed etymology of the word K?fir is also presented. Is the term K?fir really as insolent, insulting and demeaning as is often portrayed?
