The Islamic Calendar could have started from many important dates that happened during the life of the Prophet ?; including the great battles, the treaty of Hudaybiyah and the conquest of Makkah, but the Sahabah collectively agreed that the hijrah should be considered as the start of the Islamic Calendar.

This momentous occasion is regarded highly in the eyes of Allah to the extent that those who performed the Hijrah sincerely have been praised throughout the Qur'an. The rank of the Muhajirun (those who emigrated) surpassed that of the other companions as they had renounced not only their homes and their possessions, but their citizenship to the city of Makkah.

In this talk, Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq will detail some of the remarkable events and sacrifices made by the believing men and women in order to make their Hijrah complete.
