Hello and welcome to Day 22 of our wisdom series. Boy, we have come a long way. Today we discuss the importance of having a career. You can never go wrong with a career. I knew that I wanted to start a business and have multiple streams of income. I knew I had to start somewhere but I had no idea where.

Having a career gave me the freedom to pursue my dreams aggressively. I had a backup plan and this meant that I could still put food on the table. Most successful entrepreneurs leave their 9-5 jobs after their business is up and running. Before he founded Amazon and became the world's richest person, Jeff Bezos flipped burgers at McDonald's. President Barack Obama scooped ice-cream at Baskin-Robbins. Oprah Winfrey worked at a corner grocery store. Before you become successful and wealthy, you must also have a starting point and having a career is a great start.
