Welcome to the Sing Second Sports Podcast--a weekly pod for Navy fans by Navy fans. On this episode we are joined by Bill Wagner of the Annapolis Capital to discuss the decision to cancel Notre Dame and add BYU in the Labor Day football home opener on ESPN.

Guest Bios:Ashley Pelzek

Ashley Pelzek graduated from the Naval Academy in 2006 with a BS in International Relations. Originally from Western Massachusetts, she attended East Longmeadow High School and received the Vi Goodnow Award in 2002, presented annually to the top basketball player in Western Massachusetts and was a McDonald’s All-America nominee.She played basketball all four years at the Academy and was the team captain her firstie year.
Upon graduation and commissioning, she service assigned to NFO and became an F/A-18 WSO. She completed tours at Top Gun, VFA-106 and completed tour deployments onboard USS George H.W. Bush, flying combat missions over Syria and other areas of the 5th Fleet AOR.She left the Navy in 2017 and attended MIT Sloan School for her MBA, and since 2019, she has been with McKinsey and Co. as an Associate.

Courtney O’Brien (nee Davidson)Lt.Col. Courtney O’Brien was a four-year standout for the Midshipmen from 2000 through 2004, O'Brien graduated as just the second player in Patriot League history (now one of seven) to have earned all-league honors in all four seasons. An All-Patriot League Second Team honoree following her freshman season in 2000-01, she improved to All-Patriot League First Team status in each of her next three campaigns.

For her four-year career, she finished with 1,857 points…and is still Navy’s all-time leading scorer. She ranks fifth on the Patriot League's all-time scoring and three-point field goals made lists. Her number was retired in 2019, joining Becky Dowling as the only two WBB players to have their number raised to the rafters of Alumni Hall.O'Brien was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps following her graduation in May of 2004 and has prospered in the fleet as a KC-130J Super Hercules pilot.

She is assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps, The Pentagon, as the Aviation Readiness Officer.Tim Taylor

Tim Taylor, a decorated assistant coach from the Atlantic Coast Conference, was announced on April 28, 2020 as the new head coach of the Navy women's basketball program.Most recently an assistant on staff at the University of North Carolina during the 2019-20 campaign, Taylor has honed his craft with 12 seasons of great Division Isuccess and experience, with the majority coming at the University of Virginia

Taylor is a 1989 graduate of James Madison University with a degree in political science. He later earned his master's degree in educational administration in 2012. He and his wife Tonya are the proud parents of three children, a daughter Jordan (21) and sons Dalton (19) and Jackson (16).
