We chat to new podcast host and podcast friend Ben Brace on his new DWG Podcast, plus we talk Landscape architecture, what its all about and how the podcast is. here's abit from their website..

"The DWG podcast aims to explore themes of research, education and practice, ideas of place, health and wellbeing, landscape’s role in mitigating climate breakdown and biodiversity loss, re-wilding, green infrastructure and societal issues through the lens of landscape.

Ben and Ed met way back in 2004 whilst studying Landscape and Garden Design at Writtle College University and have remained good friends ever since. Their careers have taken very separate but at times interconnecting paths, with both for example, having moved to Australia for a time and ending up working for different offices of the same company. Both Ed and Ben are Chartered Landscape Architects and have been working in the landscape industry for over a decade.

Edward’s career in landscape was sparked growing up on his family farm and following his qualification in Landscape Architecture he has gone on to explore the industry from the perspective of everything from commercial master planning to niche residential spaces. Throughout his career he has remained true to his roots valuing the local and sustainable and has gone on to build a landscape architecture practice that centres around these principles. He and his practice are also interested in landscape's role in health and wellbeing and much of his design work centres around these concepts. He is interested in the idea that good landscape design can be both sustainable, healthy (for person and place) and unequivocally beautiful all at the same time.

Ben has been involved in the Horticultural industry since childhood. His passion for plants was forged whilst working on his parents market stall, selling plants and flowers to the folk of Romford. This led to him studying for qualification in Horticulture before embarking on his landscape journey at Writtle. Alongside his firm grounding in all things green, he is also interested in ideas of place and locality, specifically within food production and agriculture in the urban/peri-urban realm."
