#5 We Have a New Pastor, Gilroy Strong, and School Rivalries - a podcast by St. Mary Parish, Gilroy

We delayed a bit in getting this episode out because, well, life happened. But we are happy to tell you... St. Mary has a new pastor! Father Michael Hendrickson joins Ashley for an episode full of stories of hope, travel, and humor.
First, Ashley tests Father Michael's 80's music knowledge with a list-off. Then, Father Michael tells us about his vision for our church.
In July 2019, our Gilroy community suffered a tragedy at the annual Garlic Festival. In this episode Father Michael and Ashley talk about a wonderful community who came together and showed great courage and hope. Father Michael shares how his background as a naval officer and military chaplain gave him a unique perspective in his ministry during these challenging times.
We end the episode with a fun story about Father Michael and the rivalry between his old high school down the street, Live Oak, and our very own Gilroy High.
