Part 3 is started with the the soft slap. With the soft slap a softball player generally wants to aim for the short stop. This hit is the typically the easiest to learn, but the hardest to control. 

Next is the hard slap hit. With this hit is all focused on having more powerful strides, but not faster strides when going for the hit, or else that players timing will cause them to miss the ball.
