Christi & Alex go all the way to Cupertino to bring you a new podcast!
(Well, allright, they didn't go anywhere, but their wine began it's journey there!)

High in the hills above Cupertino, California -birthplace to Silicon Valley, Apple Computers, PayPal & a million other startups- there are vineyards & wineries in abundance. Grapes are grown and made into wines that shame their northern cousins.

One of these wines won the blind tasting of 1976 that put California and the USA into the wine world spotlight- a position it has held ever since.

What wine could that be? What could they have in their glass? What have they done this time?

Pop in the earbuds, Pop open a bottle & let's Drink Somm-thing Amazing!

Ridge Estate Chardonnay 2012
Monte Bello Vineyards, Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, CA
100% Chardonnay
14.5% abv
$54.99 average price

Winemaker Notes
Tropical notes of ripe pineapple, fig, and honeysuckle on the nose. A rich, oily texture on the palate with strong flavors of apple and pear. Full-bodied with crisp acidity and an intense finish. All estate-grown Monte Bello vineyard grapes, hand harvested. Whole-cluster pressed. Fermented on the native yeasts, followed by full malolactic on the naturally occurring bacteria. Minimum effective sulfur for this wine (28 ppm initially to barrels, 76ppm over the course of aging). Pad filtered at bottling. In keeping with our philosophy of minimal intervention, this is the sum of our actions.
