○ Galatians 5 NLT

§ Galatians 5:1-12

§ It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…free from the law of sin and death

□ The first 12 verses of chapter 5 are continuing the thoughts from the last 4 chapters where Paul is driving home this idea that we do not have to abide by the old law, but rather by the law of grace which is faith in Christ Jesus.

§ Read verses 5-6

§ Paul ends the first half of the chapter with language that suggests he is quite fed up with those who teach a "false gospel" and contradict the Truth that he had been preaching from the beginning

§ Galatians 5:13-26

§ For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself

□ From Lev. 19:18

□ Jesus also said it in the gospels

® Read Matthew 22: 37-40

§ Verses 16-18:

□ So I say walk by the Spirit….

® Read Romans 8: 5-8

§ Verses 19-21:

□ The acts of the flesh are obvious…
