§ Back in Genesis, God made Abraham (Abram at the time) a promise:

□ Genesis 12:1-3

□ Genesis 15:5- He took him outside and said, "look up at the sky and count the stars-if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "so shall your offspring be."

§ In Genesis 16, we are introduced to Hagar, an Egyptian slave. Sarai comes up with a plan, one that is outside of the will of God…

□ Genesis 16:2-4

§ But when Hagar got pregnant and started to act different and despise Sarai, then Sarai had a problem with it and blamed Abram.

§ Flash forward 13-14 years to Genesis 21 when Sarah gives birth to Isaac…(v.2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.)

□ Genesis 21:8-13

□ So by believing in God and his saving grace, we…

® Galatians 3:7- Understand then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham

® Galatians 3:26- So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith

® Galatians 3:29- If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

§ Now what?

□ Romans 7:4-6

□ Colossians 3:9b-14
