Show Notes:

○ Galatians 3:23-4:20

§ Galatians 3:23-4:7

§ Verses 23-25

□ From bible commentary (paraphrased): the law was never intended to justify sinners, rather as a guardian, the law was given as a standard to reveal human sinfulness and inadequacy (specifically apart from God). The role of a teacher is to instruct, protect, and correct, and while the law is still a teacher, Jesus is the Savior and the Holy Spirit, which is God's Spirit, now is our teacher Read John 14:26-"But the Advocate, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

§ Verses 26-29 & 4:1-7

□ We are now clothed in Christ, Covered!

□ Read Colossians 2:11-12

□ Read Romans 8:14-17 (sound familiar?)

□ Take some time to look up the promises of God, because as we have been talking about in this episode as well as in the last episode, we as believers are considered children of Abraham and more importantly, God's children and heirs of God, therefore all of the promises God made his children in the OT apply to you too! So go seek and find out what our Heavenly Father has to say in your personal devotion time with the Lord.

§ Galatians 4:8-20

§ Read verses 8-12 in the NLT

§ The "them" that Paul is referring to is the same "them" from chapters 1 & 2- false believers who had come in and "infiltrated our ranks" (Gal. 2:4) teaching that salvation for the Gentiles meant circumcision and adherence to the Mosaic law.

§ Paul, a spiritual parent or father to the believers at the churches he helped establish on his missionary journeys, was worried about his children who he labored and worked for, both physically and spiritually

§ The Galatians who were being turned by these false teachers had lost the joy of their salvation, so whenever you feel confused or discouraged when it comes to your faith, always go back to what Jesus did when he died on the cross and the grace of God when he chose to let his Son be the sacrifice for all sin, putting us back in right standing with Himself
