Sermon Notes:

2 Chronicles 20: 5 - 12

Introduction:

1. As we go through life, we will face ups and downs trials as it seems for all sides.

2. These things in life can cause us to wonder and ask what should I do.

3. These trials are here to test and refine us like the refiner's fire of goldsmith and silversmith.

4. When these things come upon us we often wonder what should I do? We are tempted to:

1. Turn to our idols

1. Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, etc...

5. When our adversary comes to beat us up and cause us to give up our inheritance what are you going to do…

6. This morning I want to give us a word of encouragement and finish this statement" When You Don't Know What To Do

When You Don't Know What to Do:

1. Fix your Eyes on the Lord (vs 12)

1. This defines the tenor of King Jehoshaphat's life

1. 2Chr. 18:4 - (But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD.")

2. 2Chr. 20:3 - (Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah)

2. Psalm 25:15 - ("My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.")

3. Micah 7:7 - ("But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.")

1. Don't be afraid or discouraged (vs 15a)

1. When we are facing life's trials sometimes we act/respond out of fear or we become discourage (lose courage) and give up.

1. The lie from our enemy is "you can't", "you won't", "you stupid", etc

2. Don't let the anxieties of life pull you down

1.

3. 1Peter 5: 6 - 11

1. Remember the battle is not yours, but GOD's (vs. 15b)

1. Our problem is we spend too much time trying to come up with a battle plan and we waste time recruiting others

2. Psalm 44:6 - ("I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.")

3. 2Chr. 20: 17 - (You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.)

1. Give Thanks to the LORD (vs. 21b)

1. Receive GOD promise and give him praise and thanks.

1. Don't be like the Hebrews complaining but give HIM praise.

2. In the book of Job, Satan's objective was to cause Job to turn away from GOD….

3. In Acts, Paul and Silas was beaten and thrown into prison but at mid-night that sang and praised the LORD (Acts 16: 23 - 28)

2. 2Chr. 20: 22 - 24

Conclusion:

1. When You Don't Know What to Do:

1. Fix your eyes on the LORD

2. Don't be afraid nor become discouraged

3. Remember the Battle IS NOT yours, but GOD's

4. Give Thanks to the LORD

2. If perhaps you did like Ruth, her husband and sons and left your inheritance then know that your Kinsman Redeemer paid the price to bring back.

1. Jesus is our kinsman and HE's our Redeemer
