Mark Nepo is a poet, philosopher, prolific writer and teacher, and the best-selling author of "The Book of Awakening". You may know him from his contributions to On Being blog, Spirituality and Health Magazine, or as a guest multiple times with Oprah.

Much of our conversation today touches on ideas in two of his most recent books. The first is, "Things the Join the Sea and Sky" that features 135 of his poetic journal entries. He offers readers a way to enter themselves more richly into time through this practice. Mark says, "Journaling is where we have an ongoing conversation with life."

And, his book that took 13 years to complete, "More Together Than Alone". Mark shares, “Things that fall apart are louder then things that fit together. We are in an age that is addicted to the sound of things falling apart.”

And...

"Aneurysms happen is weak spots in the brain. Mass shooters are societal aneurysms."

These small snippets are just tiny tastes of Mark's insightful ways of seeing how we can inhabit wisdom and each other's lives more fully.

Settle in and listen to this audio and the sage wisdom from a man that "Watkins: Mind-Body-Spirit" magazine has regarded as one of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People and the man who was given a Life-Achievement Award by AgeNation.
