One of the most thoughtful and most beloved spiritual writers of the 20th Century was Trappist monk Thomas Merton (1915-1968).

Today, I'm sharing some of his insightful and helpful writing on Meditation, particular to the Christian tradition (which is distinctly relational); and the unique gift Meditation offers as a movement toward contemplative prayer and becoming more receptive to God's grace/will. (This is from his potent, short, and essential work entitled "Spiritual Direction and Meditation")

Very useful Extras with many links to Merton's books, related websites, and episode Reflection Questions can be found at patreon.com/sparkmymuse for episode SSL 102. ( Or this direct link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/19690991 ) Supporters of the program get to view and use this immediately, and it will be available to the public 5 days after the 6/27/2018 release. I thank you to stop by to support today.

Enjoy the audio!
