aBlogtoWatch Weekly: New Releases, Rob Corder From Watchpro, And Are Rolex Watches Becoming Available Again?

On this episode of aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick and David sit down with Rob Corder, Co-Founder and Managing Editor at Watchpro. As a publication that could best be described as the Wall Street Journal or Financial Times of the watch industry, Watchpro is known for its unique business-oriented perspective on the world of watches. Rob offers his insights on everything from whether or not we are actually seeing an increase in the global supply of Rolex watches, to the greater state of the watch industry as a whole, and which brands are most likely to be impacted by changes in the supply of ‘unicorn models’ that have historically been unavailable at a retail level.

In addition to talking about their predictions regarding the future supply of Rolex watches and how liquidity differs between luxury timepieces and the stock market, the trio also go over some of the latest new watch releases that span everything from five-figure statement pieces like the pink gold Girard-Perregaux Laureato and the Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur to budget-friendly collaboration watches such as the James Brand x Timex Expedition North White and the Oris Aquis New York Harbor Limited Edition. Additionally, with the release of the new colorful time-only Breitling Superocean models that were unveiled earlier this week, Rick admits that he prefers watches with date displays, while David suggests that Rick’s preference may be simply due to the fact that he doesn’t spend enough time lounging at beach-side bars.
