from 2019-05-12T18:08:53
Amateur MMA fighter Alex Youngbauer joins the podcast to discuss the challenges of competing before you become a professional fighter and why people sometimes decide to hold on to their amateur status. Youngbauer was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He is a graduate from Thurston High School (Class of ‘14) and is currently taking college courses online with a goal of finding a career in sports performance with a focus on nutrition. Youngbauer began wrestling in the 7th grade and continued thru high school. He began training at Art of War in 2017 and, after a year of training, took his first amatuer fight. He is currently 2-1 as an amateur (at 125 lbs) and is hoping to turn professional in the near future.
