Born in Hong Kong, and raised in the quiet suburbs of Richmond Hill, Ontario; Harmony was brought up and taught to cling onto her cultural roots through traditional Chinese folk dance lessons as expected from her first generation parents. The good girl gone bad storyline rings true within the past five years as she transformed herself from demure Chinese folk dancer into exotic, nightclub “eye candy” inspired by the myriad of eye-catching performers in the nightlife industry. Taking the audience by storm and awe, it was through dance that Harmony was able to bridge her traditional upbringing to the clashing, unapologetic culture of the nightlife scene in Toronto. From 1999 to 2007, Harmony was part of a traditional Chinese dance company that stressed the importance of passing on knowledge and tradition of Chinese dance.
