The Rays force Game 5 of the American League Division Series as they beat Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros 4-1 before another raucous crowd at Tropicana Field. Tommy Pham hit a home run in the 1st, part of a 3-run inning and the Rays would never trail. The defense shined as well as Ji-Man Choi made several good plays at 1st base, and the Rays nailed Jose Altuve at the plate on a perfect relay from Kevin Kiermaier to Willy Adames to Travis d'Arnaud in the 4th to keep the Astros off the board. The pitching kept Houston off balance tonight including using Blake Snell as the closer for the first time in his career.
