Theme: Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.

COLLECT
Eternal Father,
your reign extends beyond space and time:
grant that in this world of changing things
we may hold fast to your promises that
endure for ever;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

READING from Acts 16: 9-15
14 One of those who heard us was Lydia from Thyatira, who was a dealer in purple cloth. She was a woman who worshiped God, and the Lord opened her mind to pay attention to what Paul was saying.
15 After she and the people of her house had been baptized, she invited us, “Come and stay in my house if you have decided that I am a true believer in the Lord.” And she persuaded us to go.


GOSPEL according to John 14: 23-29
23 Jesus answered him, "Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me.
25 "I have said these things to you while I am still with you.
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.


BENEDICTION
Go now and walk in the light of God’s glory.
Love Christ
and keep his word.
Do not let your hearts be troubled,
but lead others to the waters of life.

COMMISSIONING/SENDING
Go in peace with courage to love and serve the Lord.
