The announcement by Pres. Trump of the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria has now been lengthened to a period of months. A great fear of a quick withdrawal would be that Russia would fill that void. Theoretically, this quick removal was the reason Gen. Mattis resigned, but on recommendation from Sec. of State Mike Pompeo and PM Netanyahu of Israel, the Pres it appears to have listened to them and delaying the removal. How should outsiders view this critical policy move by the President?
