On many issues – like gun control – the Bible does not speak. The Bible does not mention guns, missiles, hand grenades or other such inventions, but it does speak to the fundamental issue surrounding guns. When we look at what the Bible permits regarding guns, what are the two underlying considerations that the Bible does clearly speak to?

When it comes to the specific matter of the biblical principles and guidelines regarding weapons and the use of weapons:- Does the Bible say anything specifically about guns?
- Does the Bible say anything about weapons and warfare?- Does the Bible say anything about people murdering and killing each other?
- Does the Bible condone murder or violence?- Does the Bible say anything about people protecting themselves against others who would do them harm?
- Does the Bible say anything about a duty of those in authority to protect those under their care?- Does the Bible ever condemn the possession of or the ownership of weapons or armaments of war?
- Does the Bible condemn the immoral use of weapons or armaments of war?Looking at the words and actions of Jesus in the New Testament:
- Did Jesus ever condemn the possession of weapons?- Did Jesus ever condemn the improper usage of weapon?
- Did Jesus ever encourage the carrying of weapons?- Did Jesus place a high priority on the carrying of weapons while executing the communication of the Gospel?
- Did Jesus or the Bible mandate that all Christians bear arms?- Does the Bible and Jesus make it clear that its not the weapon but the defense of life that is the issue?

- What’s the issue? Is it the fact of a weapon or type of weapon? Is it the carrying of a weapon? Is it a concealed weapon?Concerning this issue and the Constitution:
- Does the Constitution create the right to bear arms in defense of oneself or those under ones authority?- Does the Constitution recognize a God-given right to bear arms in defense of oneself or those under once authority?
- Did the founders and the original intent of the Second Amendment primarily view the right to protect oneself not only as protection from an individual but primarily from a totalitarian government?- Does the Constitution as our nation‘s highest civil law violate any God established moral law in regard to weapons or protection of oneself?
