Shakespearean like drama as a defector is granted safety aboard the Enterprise from the Romulan empire. The defector claims he has vital information about an offensive that is being mounted against the federation but when the crew are suspicious of his facts, he finally reveals himself to be Admiral Jarok and agrees to give any information necessary to convince the crew of the threat. The Enterprise investigates the Admirals claims only to find themselves in an ambush against two Romulan warbirds. Fortunately Captain Picard has a few tricks up his sleeves.
