Movement artist Sydney Jackson joined me at the Chop Shop in Tempe where I try to make her feel comfortable by bringing up a bunch of stuff she doesn't remember. But then she talks to me about how we put value on ourselves as artists, why she likes to avoid as many descriptors as she can, and why a good teacher doesn't necessarily need to be a good performer.

Sydney will be performing with the BlakTina Festival, which runs ONE NIGHT ONLY, Saturday July 22 at 7:30 at Black Theatre Troupe. Tickets are 17.90, available through the Facebook event
You can also see Sydney with the Humanity 101 Players in August through Nuebox and the Mesa Arts Center. They have a workshop on Tuesday, August 1 at 6:30 and a Work In Progress Show on Tuesday, August 8 at 6:30, both at the Mesa Arts Center. More information on those at nuebox.org
Look out for more details later on in the year for the class Sydney will be teaching through MAC as well
